My risk management – Risk assessment of SDS revisions

Last Updated: October 12, 2026

In Cobuilder Collaborate you can check the different revisions of a safety data sheet (SDS), compare their status, and carry out a risk assessment based on a specific revision.

Note: If you update a chemical to a newer SDS revision, you need to carry out a new risk assessment for it. The newer revision is then used in all project menus and replaces the previous one in document exports.

How to do it

1

Open the project and select Risk management – My risk management in the left-hand menu.

2

For chemicals you have already assessed, the SDS revision column shows which revision the risk assessment is based on. For chemicals you haven’t assessed yet, it shows the latest available revision.

3

You can also see whether newer revisions of the SDS have been registered since you did the risk assessment. A number next to the revision shows how many newer revisions there are. In the example below, the risk assessment was done on SDS revision 7, and there are 4 newer revisions.

4

To see the different SDS revisions, click the three dots on the right and select Browse SDS revisions, or click the revision number directly in the SDS revision column.

5

You can also carry out a risk assessment for a specific revision: in Browse SDS revisions, click the three dots on the right and select Create Risk Management. See our guide on how to create a risk management.

6

SDS revisions are also visible in the chemical list. Select Chemical list in the left-hand menu.

7

The SDS revision column shows the revision used in the project, with a number if newer revisions exist. Click the revision number to see an overview of all SDS revisions and the status of each one against the project’s chemical requirements.

8

There is also a separate Chemical requirements column.

9

Click Deviation to see more details about the chemical’s status.

10

To download a specific SDS revision, click the three dots on the right and select Download SDS or Download compressed SDS.

✓ You now have a full overview of the SDS revisions for the chemicals in your project, and can assess the right revision when needed.
