What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring both your password and a second form of authentication. In this case, 2FA is enabled automatically for your account, and you will use an authenticator app to complete the login process.
Prerequisites
Ensure you have an authenticator app installed on your smartphone (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy).
Make sure you can log in to your account with your username and password before using 2FA.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Step 1: Log into Your Account
• Go to the login page of your account and enter your username and password as usual.
- Since 2FA is already enabled for your account, after entering your password, you will be prompted to complete the second authentication step using an authenticator app.
Step 2: Link Your Authenticator App (First Time Only)
- The first time you log in after 2FA has been enabled, you’ll be required to set up your authenticator app.
- A QR code will appear on your screen.
- Open your authenticator app on your smartphone.
- Tap on Add Account (usually a “+” sign in the app).
- Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed on your screen.
Step 3: Enter the Verification Code
- After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
- Enter this code in the provided field on the website to verify the setup.
Step 4: Complete the Login Process
- Once verified, you will be successfully logged in. From now on, whenever you log into your account, you will use the authenticator app to retrieve the verification code for the second step of the login process.
Future Logins with 2FA Enabled
For all future logins:
- Enter your username and password as usual.
- Open your authenticator app, retrieve the current 6-digit code, and enter it on the login page when prompted.
