Use bSDD as Data Dictionary

Last Updated: November 29, 2024

Begin by navigating to the project settings in Cobuilder Link. Here’s how you can set up your project to use bSDD:

Go to the project settings section.

Select the data dictionaries provided by bSDD that you want to use in your project.

This action automatically associates your project with the IFC 4.3 classification, ensuring compatibility with IFC-related entities in bSDD objects. This step is crucial for exporting requirements into IDS or the IFC model.

Add bSDD Objects to Your Project

To incorporate bSDD objects into your project, follow these steps:
Navigate to the “Add bSDD Object” option.
Search for the desired object by name.
Filter the search results by the specific data dictionary.
Validate object details until you are certain it meets your requirements.
This process ensures that the selected bSDD object aligns precisely with your project needs.

Add bSDD Properties to the information requirements

Now, let’s create information requirements for the bSDD objects by adding relevant properties:

Select the object for which you want to define information requirements.
Click on “Add bSDD Properties” to specify the properties needed.

When adding properties, you have the flexibility to search within Class properties or explore the full list of properties provided by bSDD or your preferred data dictionaries:

Apply filters to search specifically within Class properties.
Access the complete list of properties offered by bSDD or your chosen data dictionaries.

For detailed information about each property, additional details are available. This ensures that you have comprehensive knowledge about the properties you are including in your information requirements.

It’s noteworthy that bSDD properties can be requested for objects sourced from Define data dictionaries in the same way Define properties can be requested for bSDD objects. This inter-dictionary flexibility allows you to seamlessly integrate different sources in your project.
