How to archive or unarchive Safety Data Sheets

Last Updated: August 21, 2026

When a safety data sheet (SDS) is no longer in use, you can archive it instead of deleting it. Archived SDSs keep their full history, and you can reactivate them later if you need to.

Note: The SDS register is shown as Chemicals on the project Dashboard, but is called Chemical list in the left-hand menu inside the project. It’s the same list either way.

Find the chemical list

1

Go to My projects. Find the project you want and select it.

2

Go to Chemicals on the project Dashboard, or Chemical list in the left-hand menu inside the project, to open the list of safety data sheets.

Archive a safety data sheet

3

Click the three dots next to the SDS you want, and select Archive SDS.

4

Confirm by clicking Archive in the dialog that appears.

5

The SDS disappears from the list, and the count of active SDSs updates.

View and reactivate archived safety data sheets

6

Open the Filter Menu and use the status filter to switch between Active, Archived, and All safety data sheets.

7

To reactivate an archived SDS, click the three dots next to it and select Unarchive SDS.

8

Products linked to an archived SDS stay in the project’s Products tab regardless of the SDS’s status.

Note: Archived safety data sheets are also shown on the QR code.

✓ You can now archive safety data sheets you no longer use, find them again using the status filter, and reactivate them whenever you need to.
